Consumer goods case studies
Customer Insight study & trend research (including visual intelligence)
Our clients, the owners of a mid-priced fashion brand, wanted to learn about the “life” of their items after the sale. They were interested in tracking both the on- and offline “story” for their sold branded products. Our clients were also interested in understanding regional differences between various European countries.
ABE placed researchers at various points-of-sale in different European cities. These researcher asked buyers to conduct an on-video interview, explaining their shopping bag and talking about their buying decision and their future plans for the purchased item. We agreed with the buyers to follow up with them about the “life of the products” later in time. We’ve also established an online tracking system, capturing the “exhibition” of products on social media.
Through this study, we were able to create a visual “product journey”. We’ve later used this approach to conduct similar studies about competing fashion brands.
point-of-sales research (including visual intelligence) and strategy development
A large, global retailer wanted to have first-hand insights on how their shop strategy has been implemented across Europe. They were also interested in learning from the shop management, shop clerks and customers about their feedback and suggestions. It was important to our clients.
ABE had a researchers together with a videographer visiting selected points of sales across Europe to visually document implementation of the overall shop strategy, and to record local-language interviews with the target sources. Based on this input we’ve created a visual presentation.
Based on our findings, we’ve suggested a list of improvements for the point-of-sales strategy.
